HOUSTON, Texas  – The Astros return home to Minute Maid Park for a quick four-game series against the Oakland A’s. It is a jam-packed homestand as the Astros will celebrate Roberto Clemente Day on Thursday, Sept. 15 and Hispanic Heritage Weekend, Sept. 16-18.

Thursday, Sept. 15 – Astros vs. Oakland A’s: 6:20 p.m. CT

The Astros open up the four-game series with the A’s at 6:20 p.m. CT on Thursday. The game will be televised nationally on FOX exclusively. Fans will be able to listen on local radio, KBME 790 AM/94.5 FM HD-2, KTRH 740 AM/99.1 FM HD-2, TUDN 93.3 / KLAT 1010.

The Astros will celebrate Roberto Clemente Day presented by Capital One on Thursday.

The Astros will host an MVP Conversation, presented by United Airlines on Roberto Clemente Day for leaders in the Houston Latino community at the Depot in Union Station, Minute Maid Park at 4 p.m. The reception and panel discussion will feature Astros Hall of Famer Jose Cruz and his family speaking on baseball, family, and community service.

The Astros will also celebrate Roberto Clemente Day with a pregame ceremony, ceremonial first pitch from Houston Police Dept Assistant Chief Patricia Cantu, first call and Chevy Base Stealer. A portion of the proceeds from the Share2Care 50/50 raffle will go to the Roberto Clemente Museum.

A pregame ceremony will also be held for Jose Altuve, the Astros’ nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award presented by Capital One. The Roberto Clemente Award is the annual recognition of a Major League player who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field.   

Thursday is also Teacher Appreciation Night, presented by AIG as the Astros celebrate our educators with a ceremonial first pitch and more.

The National Anthem will be sung by the Houston Grand Opera.

Friday, Sept. 16 – Astros vs. Oakland A’s: 7:10 p.m. CT

The Astros will honor POW/MIA Remembrance Day with a pregame ceremony and ceremonial first pitch.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Weekend, there will be a ceremonial first pitch by Dr. Lupita Hinojosa ,the first Hispanic woman to hold the top leadership position in Spring ISD.

Pregame Happy Hour presented by Budweiser will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Michelob Ultra Bar. Fans can enjoy $5 Ultra Drafts, a live D.J. and amazing views.

Friday Night Fireworks presented by ConocoPhillips are set for postgame, featuring the musical theme Hispanic Heritage Weekend, with Latin and Reggaeton music. Friday Night Fireworks are subject to weather. In the event a show must be cancelled due to weather, refunds will not be granted.

A portion of the proceeds from the Share2Care 50/50 raffle will go to Camp Hope, a nonprofit that provides interim housing for our wounded warriors, veterans and their families suffering from combat related PTSD in a caring and positive environment.

Saturday Sept, 17 – Astros vs. Oakland A’s: 6:10 p.m. CT

The Astros will continue to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Weekend on Saturday with a 6:20 p.m. CT start in game three of the series with the A’s.

Hispanic Heritage Street Fest, presented by Hornitos will take place in the plaza at Minute Maid Park from 3-6 p.m. Enjoy live music, food trucks, yard games, face painters, caricaturists and more. 10,000 fans will receive a Sugar Skull Bobblehead, presented by Bank of America.

Astros fans can also celebrate Hispanic Heritage Weekend with a special hat add-on package. Fans can choose from five different Latin American countries, Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico and Venezuela, representing the Latin and Hispanic roots of Astros players. Fans must have a ticket to the game on Sept 17 to purchase a Hispanic Heritage Hat Add-on Package.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Day, Astros will celebrate our players’ Latin and Hispanic roots before first pitch during a special pregame ceremony. The National Anthem will be performed by Rice University’s Mariachi Luna Llena.

Sunday Sept, 18 – Astros vs. Oakland A’s: 1:10 p.m. CT

The Astros will close out Hispanic Heritage Weekend and the four-game series with the A’s on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 1:10 p.m. CT.

The Air Force’s Birthday will also be celebrated on Sunday with a special pregame ceremony, ceremonial first pitch, color guard and National Anthem.

10,000 fans will receive a Somos Astros Soccer Scarf.

Kid’s Run the Bases, presented by Olshan Foundation Solutions, will occur for all kids in attendance ages 5-12 after the game.

A portion of the proceeds from the Share2Care 50/50 raffle will go to the nonprofit, Navidad en El Barrio. The organization makes life for pleasant for the less fortunate, bringing smiles to those who otherwise might have lost all hope.
