Blue Jays promote Hendriks

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have selected the contract of RHP LIAM HENDRIKS and have designated RHP ESMIL ROGERS for assignment.

HENDRIKS, 25, has appeared in 10 games (eight starts) for Buffalo this season, posting a 5-0 record with a 1.48 ERA, allowing 36 hits and walking just three batters in 48.2 innings. The right-hander is 1st in the International League in WHIP (0.80), 2nd in ERA (1.48), T-2nd in wins (5) & 5th in opponent's average (.202). Hendriks has made 30 Major League appearances (28 starts), all with Minnesota, going 2-13 with a 6.06 ERA.

ROGERS, 28, posted a 6.97 ERA in 16 relief appearances for the Blue Jays this season. In 174 career games (42 starts) has recorded a 16-21 record with a 5.59 ERA for Colorado, Cleveland and Toronto.
