Game Day 50/50 Staff, Fundraiser

REPORTS TO: Supervisor, 50/50 Program

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Game Day 50/50 Fundraisers are primarily responsible for representing the Jays Care Foundation as an in-stadium Brand Ambassador by selling 50/50 raffle tickets to Blue Jays fans during ALL (81) Blue Jays home games.
Please note this is a contract position March 2018-October 2018.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for selling 50/50 raffle tickets at Blue Jays games to fans with positive energy and eagerness to assist; responsible for hitting per-game sales targets
  • Act as a Jays Care Brand Ambassador in-stadium with the goal of enhancing guest experience
  • Educate fans on the details of the 50/50 eRaffle Program and answer questions about the work Jays Care does across Canada
  • Be proficient at handling money, balancing tickets sold with daily float (accuracy essential)
  • Will work independently while contributing to the team's success
  • Some minor physical labour required (i.e. climbing stairs, walking around stadium)
  • Be knowledgeable on Blue Jays & Rogers Centre policies
  • Pro at handling money, with accuracy as a requirement
  • Supporting and collaborating with other Toronto Blue Jays Game Staff (e.g. Ushers, Security, etc.) to assist Guests who require assistance or attention when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-2 years prior sales experience required
  • Prior cash handling experience
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently sort large quantities of cash
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Commitment to service excellence and customer satisfaction

Game Day 50/50 Staff, Support Staff

REPORTS TO: Supervisor, 50/50 Program
DEPARTMENT: Jays Care

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Game Day 50/50 Support Staff are primarily responsible for supporting the team, counting all 50/50 ticket sales cash and submitting supporting documentation to the Event Manager during ALL (81) Blue Jays home games. Staff must attend pre-season training.
Please note this is a contract position March 2018-October 2018.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a Jays Care Brand Ambassador in-stadium with the goal of enhancing the guest experience
  • Educate fans on the details of the 50/50 eRaffle Program and answer questions about the work Jays Care does across Canada
  • Be proficient at handling money, balancing tickets sold with daily float (accuracy essential)
  • Will work independently while contributing to the team's success
  • Some minor physical labour required (i.e. climbing stairs, walking around stadium)

  • Responsible for reconciling 50/50 raffle tickets sale Cash Out Reports with associated deposits
  • Storing the cash in a secure location until it is deposited and delivering the deposit to designated deposit drop location
  • Provide support to fundraising team throughout stadium during raffle sales
  • Assist with device sign in/out for staff and volunteers
  • Assist with daily setup and teardown of equipment, including kiosks
  • Supporting and collaborating with other Toronto Blue Jays Game Staff (e.g. Ushers, Security, etc.) to assist Guests who require assistance or attention when needed

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior non-profit, fundraising or sales experience considered an asset
  • Prior cash handling experience a requirement
  • Ability to quickly and efficiently sort, count and separate large quantities of cash

Facility Attendant

REPORTS TO: Director, Facility Services
DEPARTMENT: Facility Services

NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Facility Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the building during both event and non-event times. This involves all aspects of cleaning, garbage removal, landscaping, painting, snow removal and vehicle maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for cleaning all interior areas of the building as well as the exterior of the building as per our property boundaries
  • Cleaning duties include sweeping, mopping, cleaning horizontal surfaces, glass cleaning and any other general cleaning as required
  • Carpet maintenance using either Tennant variable speed bonnet cleaning machine or Tennant carpet extractor and the use of appropriate cleaning agents
  • Cleaning of concourse floors using any of Tennant ride on sweeper, Tennant ride on sweeper scrubber or American Lincoln scrubber and cleaning of said equipment after use
  • Clean up of any water related floods in the building
  • Cardboard, paper and glass/bottle recycling in the building
  • Snow, ice removal and salting using shovels, tractor or 4X4 pick-up truck
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and compiling list of supplies that need to be reordered
  • Responsible for following all Rogers Centre Health and Safety guidelines and taking courses for certification in forklift driving, scissor lift driving and propane handling
  • Determine appropriate action to efficiently resolve issues in a prompt and professional manner

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Checks items received against shipping invoice to ensure the shipment is accurate.
  • Organizes and unpacks inventory in the stockroom or warehouse.
  • Places orders for supplies.
  • Answers customer and sales associate questions about available items in stock.
  • Retrieves items from stockroom at customer request.
  • Assists managers and associates in preventing theft and maintaining proper inventory.
  • Pulls defective or expired items from shelves.
  • Packs up defective items or overstock and arranges for the return shipment.
  • Observes proper safety procedures in the stockroom, particularly when lifting and moving heavy items.
  • Reports issues or problems to inventory manager or store manager.

Ticket Taker

REPORTS TO: Manager, Game Operations

NATURE AND SCOPE:
If you enjoy being surrounded by baseball, these seasonal positions may be for you. All positions require a willingness to assist fans in a polite, friendly manner, and have strong interpersonal communication skills.
Applicants must available to work all 81 home games including evenings, weekends and holidays as required. Candidates should have some experience working with people in a customer-service capacity.
A Ticket Taker is primarily responsible for the admission of our fans upon the presentation of a valid ticket and to deny entrance to all unauthorized persons. Staff are expected to attend a pregame meeting before gates open.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Being certain that each fan is greeted with a warm smile and a friendly "Good afternoon/evening" or other appropriate phrase.
  • Assist fans with scanning tickets for verification and ensuring that only valid ticket holders are allowed entry to Rogers Centre
  • Directing the fan in the general direction of their seating area, to alternate gates and/or points of interest.
  • Receiving and acting on complaints from fans or referring them to a ticket taker supervisor if unable to satisfy fan.
  • Have complete understanding of Rogers Centre and all event policies. You are accountable for your own actions.
  • Reporting any incident (major or minor) or potential problems on an Incident Report Card and submitting that report to your supervisor.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
If you enjoy being surrounded by baseball, these seasonal positions may be for you. All positions require a willingness to assist fans in a polite, friendly manner, and have strong interpersonal communication skills.
Applicants must available to work all 81 home games including evenings, weekends and holidays as required. Candidates should have some experience working with people in a customer-service capacity.
Ushering staff are primarily responsible for the correct seating and direction of the fans according to ticket location, to keep fans from other areas from sitting in incorrect seats and to proactively monitor an assigned area for safety and medical issues. Staff are expected to attend a pre-game meeting before gates open.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Being certain that each fan is met with a warm smile and a friendly "May I be of help?" or "Good evening/afternoon".
  • Checking each ticket completely, noting date, level, section, row and seat, at all times.
  • Being certain that each fan is directed or accompanied, if possible, to the correct seat, at all times.
  • Keeping fans moving, thus avoiding congestion that will eliminate blocked entrances, concourses, stairways and ramps.
  • Receiving and acting on complaints from fans or referring them to an ushering supervisor if unable to satisfy fan.
  • Being alert for the safety of all fans.
  • Have complete understanding of Rogers Centre and all event policies. You are accountable for your own actions.
  • Reporting any incident (major or minor) on an Incident Report Card and submitting that report to your supervisor.
