The Brewers Grand Slam Teacher of the Month Award program is in honor of educators from all grade levels and disciplines who are improving student achievement, using innovative strategies in the classroom, and making a difference in the lives of their students. Teachers and other educators change the lives of millions of children and adults every day, and their work and impact extend far beyond the boundaries of the classroom. They play a pivotal role in our lives and those of our children, inspiring a lifelong love of learning and discovery and making a difference in their well-being and long-term success. To show thanks and gratitude for these important contributions to our community, each month during the season (April to September), the Brewers will recognize one educator in the community who has made a difference in the lives of Wisconsin students.
Nominations for the Brewers Grand Slam Teacher of the Month Award can be made in two ways: (i) by completing a nomination form online below, or (ii) by picking up and submitting a nomination form during Brewers home games at the Guest Relations Booth located on the Field Level concourse at Miller Park.
All nominations for 2020 award recipients must be received by August 30, 2020. Nominations for a given month’s award must be received by the 30th day of the immediately preceding month (for example, by March 30, for the April award).
Each recipient of the Brewers Grand Slam Teacher of the Month Award will be recognized in a pre-game ceremony before a Brewers home game during the 2020 season. The Award ceremony will include on-field acknowledgement, a Brewers Grand Slam Teacher certificate, and the opportunity for the Award recipient to throw out a ceremonial first pitch prior to the game. The Award recipient’s name and photo will also be featured on the Brewers website.
All award details, including, without limitation, the exact nature and duration of the on-field acknowledgment and opportunity to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, shall be determined in the sole and absolute discretion of the Milwaukee Brewers and subject to availability.
How else will the Brewers commemorate the Award recipients?
In connection with the Brewers Grand Slam Teacher of the Month Award program, the Brewers Wives and the Brewers Community Foundation will make a $250 donation to the award winning educator’s school or program to help cover some of their classroom costs.
A nominee for the Brewers Grand Slam Teacher of the Month Award must be an individual educator residing in Wisconsin who has improved student achievement, used innovative strategies in the classroom, and/or making a difference in the lives of their students. Wisconsin educators at all grade levels and disciplines are eligible for consideration. The Brewers will review all nominations and select one individual to receive the Brewers Grand Slam Teacher of the Month Award each month during the 2020 season (April – September).
Any U.S. resident (including D.C.) who is eighteen (18) years of age or older (except in the case of legal residents of certain states where the legal age is greater than eighteen (18) years of age, such legal age of majority) can nominate a qualifying Wisconsin resident 18 years of age or older for the Brewers Grand Slam Teacher of the Month Award. If a minor child wishes to nominate, the child’s parent or legal guardian eighteen (18) years of age or older must submit the nomination. Self-nominations by Wisconsin residents are permitted in accordance with these guidelines.
