D-backs recall De La Rosa from Reno; option Skaggs to Visalia

PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks) have recalled left-handed pitcher Eury De La Rosa from Triple-A Reno and optioned left-handed pitcher Tyler Skaggs (@TylerSkaggs37) to Single-A Visalia, according to D-backs' Executive Vice President & General Manager Kevin Towers.

De La Rosa, 23, was 1-4 with a 5.14 ERA (24 ER in 42.0 IP) and 45 strikeouts in 37 appearances with the Aces this season. He has limited left-handed hitters to a .177 ledger (14-for-79) and averaged 9.6 strikeouts per 9.0 innings.

In 6 Minor League seasons, De La Rosa is 8-13 with 29 saves and a 2.87 ERA (91 ER in 285.0 IP) in 185 games (6 starts). He will wear No. 56 and will be making his Major League debut.

Skaggs, who turns 22 on Saturday, was 2-1 with a 4.03 ERA (13 ER in 29.0 IP) in 5 starts with the D-backs this season.
