In the 2025 NLCS, the Dodgers swept the Brewers en route to a second straight World Series title. A year later, the Brewers flipped the script by sweeping the Dodgers in four games to secure the franchise’s second World Series appearance.
The NLCS result reversal also produced eerily similar numbers for each season’s winners. As Jay Cuda showed in a now-viral X post, the 2025 Dodgers and 2026 Brewers matched in several categories.
Of course, each team went 4-0 in its sweep, but the ‘25 Dodgers and ‘26 Brewers also each had 149 plate appearances, 128 at-bats, 32 hits, a .250 average and a .347 on-base percentage. Talk about uncanny.
There were similar finishes in other categories, too. The Dodgers homered six times in the 2025 NLCS. The Brewers had seven home runs in the ‘26 NLCS -- two from Garrett Mitchell and one apiece from Jake Bauers, Jackson Chourio, William Contreras, Brice Turang and David Hamilton.
Ditto for OPS: the Dodgers had an .808 mark in the 2025 NLCS, while the Brewers had a .792 OPS in the ‘26 version.
What’s in store for the 2027 NLCS? Well, I guess we’ll all have to find out together.
