Safeco Field Netting Extension
As part of our ongoing commitment to provide fans with a safe and enjoyable environment at the ballpark, the Seattle Mariners will be replacing and extending the protective netting at Safeco Field for the 2018 season.
The new netting will be extending to the outside ends of both dugouts (covering Sections 122-138) and reach a height of 11-feet above field level. The netting will be attached to the front (field) edge of the dugout roofs. During this project, all of the existing protective netting, which was updated before the 2016 season, will be replaced with a "knotless" open mesh that is tinted "field green" to meet MLB's recommendation to reduce visible impact (pictured below).
Installation will begin in March and will be completed by Opening Night, March 29, when the Seattle Mariners host the Cleveland Indians at 7:10 PM.
