Ohtani’s popularity reached new heights as he became the first player to finish four straight seasons with the most popular player jersey in the Majors since tracking began in 2010. Since 2023, fans have purchased Ohtani’s Nike jersey more than any other in the U.S., Japan and worldwide. With Dodgers teammate and reigning Willie Mays World Series Most Valuable Player Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s jersey ranking no. 9 and Chicago White Sox All-Star slugger Munetaka Murakami debuting on the list at no. 20, this is also the first season that three MLB Players from Japan have their jerseys in the top 20.
After becoming only the seventh player in MLB history and first Cubs player to hit at least 40 home runs and steal at least 40 bases in a single season, Crow-Armstrong’s jersey finished as the third most popular of the season – the highest ranking for a Cubs star since Javier Báez finished third in 2018.
