NEW YORK – Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today that the Mariners have claimed RHP Nolan Kingham off waivers from the Texas Rangers.
The Mariners 40-man roster is now at 37 players.
Kingham, 29, will report to Triple-A Tacoma. He made his MLB debut on August 3 vs. San Francisco allowing 1 run over 1.0 inning. He was designated for assignment by the Rangers on August 7.
The Las Vegas, Nevada native has also appeared in 11 games (10 starts) with Triple-A Round Rock and 6 games (6 starts) with Monterrey in the Mexican League this season. Over 6 minor league seasons in the Braves (2018-23) and Rangers (2026) systems, he is 26-36 with 3 saves, a 4.56 ERA (260 ER, 513.1 IP), 138 walks and 377 strikeouts in 127 games (88 starts). He was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 39th round of the 2015 MLB First-Year Player Draft but did not sign, and selected by the Atlanta Braves in the 12th round of the 2018 MLB First-Year Player Draft.
