Run Around the Bases

During the pregame ceremony, the traditional ceremonial run around the bases by a Make-A-Wish® child will feature 5-year-old Coleman, who is from Bainbridge Island, WA. In 2019, Coleman was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma, a rare eye cancer, and he is now in remission. Coleman visited the Mariners at Spring Training and spent the day with the team, joining the team meeting, participating in batting practice and more. This is the 24th consecutive year a Make-A-Wish child has performed the ceremonial first run around the bases on Mariners Opening Day. Since becoming the Mariners naming rights partner in 2019, T-Mobile has donated $10,000 to Make-A-Wish every Opening Day and is proud to do so again this year.

Awards Presentation

Prior to first pitch, the Mariners will do a special presentation on-field honoring Julio Rodríguez for winning AL Rookie of the Year and his first Silver Slugger award.
