Mickey Morandini Milt Thompson and Phanatic Kick-Off Phillies Phundamentals Summer Camp

It was a fun-filled morning for 60+ kids at the Hank Gathers Recreation Center, who were all treated to the Phillies Phundamentals Summer Camp kick-off event!

Hosted by the Phillies and Chick-fil-A Greater Philadelphia, the campers participated in interactive activities led by the club’s front office staff, who used baseball-related STEM programming to teach and reinforce academic skills. The special event also included surprise guests, among them: 1993 NL Champs Mickey Morandini and Milt Thompson, the Phillie Phanatic and Chick-Fil-A Cow. Afterwards, all were treated to a free Chick-Fil-A lunch, and given some goodies to take home.

This was the first of 15 different Philadelphia recreation center visits being made as part of the Phillies Phundamentals Summer Camp program, bringing the Phillies fun, and Science of Baseball, to over 1,000 kids in the Philadelphia area.
