What’s Happening This Week at Citizens Bank Park: Phillies vs. Marlins, September 23-25

2025 NL East champion Phillies return home to finish out the regular season! Aaron Nola honored on-field as Phillies Roberto Clemente Award nominee; Ceremonial first pitches by ‘Task’ star Tom Pelphrey & Covenant House International CEO Bill Bedrossian; Players receiving Phillies’ Paul Owens, John Vukovich and Dallas Green Awards to be recognized

It’s the last homestand of the regular season for the 2025 National League East champion Phillies! Here’s a look at some of the fan highlights for the three-game series against the Miami Marlins, from September 23-25, at Citizens Bank Park.

  1. The series begins on Tuesday, September 23, at 6:45 p.m., with the 10th annual Phillies Band Night! Gate openings: 3B/LF – 4:45 p.m.; all other gates 5:15 p.m.
    • Starting at 5:40 p.m., 14 local middle school and high school marching bands will perform outside the Left Field Gate. Plus, Penncrest High School Roaring Lions Marching Band will perform the national anthem on-field.
    • Covenant House International’s President & CEO, Bill Bedrossian will throw a ceremonial first pitch in celebration of the newly announced Phillies Sleep Out at Citizens Bank Park, being held on November 20. Sign up now for this special event that invites fans to give up their beds and sleep on the field for one night to help combat Philadelphia’s growing youth homelessness crisis.
    • Also making a ceremonial first pitch is Tom Pelphrey, star of HBO Original drama series TASK, set in the working-class suburbs of Philadelphia and created by Brad Ingelsby, Emmy**®nominee for “Mare of Easttown.” Phillies broadcaster **Ben Davis will have the honors of catching.
    • Pitcher Aaron Nola will be recognized on-field as the club’s Roberto Clemente Award nominee. Click here to vote for Nola for this prestigious MLB award, bestowed annually to the player who best represents the game of baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions, both on and off the field.
  2. The Phillies take on the Marlins at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24. Gate openings: 3B/LF – 4:45 p.m.; all other gates 5:15 p.m.
    • Sophia Ware, 15, from Philadelphia, PA, will be honored on-field as the Phillies Ballgirls Ball Kid of the Month. This once-in-a-lifetime experience is given each month to a child battling a disease.
  3. Before the 6:05 p.m. series’ conclusion on Thursday, September 25, the Phillies will honor their top minor league players, scouts and coaches. Gate openings: 3B/LF – 4:05 p.m.; all other gates 4:35 p.m.
    • Infielder/outfielder Otto Kemp and pitcher Griff McGarry will be recognized as Paul Owens Award winners, presented annually to the organization’s top minor league position player and pitcher. Presenting the award will be Vice President and General Manager Preston Mattingly, Director of Player Development Luke Murton and Owens family members Paulette McDaniel and Drew Owens.
    • Reading Fightin Phils manager Al Pedrique will be presented with the John Vukovich Award, presented annually to an instructor in the Phillies organization who embodies the characteristics of the award’s namesake: loyalty, dedication, competitiveness, knowledge, honesty and a terrific work ethic. The award will be presented by Mattingly, Murton and Vukovich family members Vince Vukovich and Nikki Storalick.
    • Phillies scout Tommy Field will be presented with the Dallas Green Award by Mattingly, Assistant General Manager, Amateur Scouting Brian Barber, and Green family member Holly Ressler. The award is presented annually to an amateur or professional scout who best exemplifies the Phillies’ standard for scouting while demonstrating the same loyalty, work ethic, dedication and passion as the award’s namesake.
    • Plus, it’s the Jewish Community Celebration! The Kosher Jazz Trio will perform at the Third Base Plaza from 4:05 – 5:30 p.m. Kosher food options will also be available at the Kosher Grill concession stand located behind section 136.
    • Before the game, members of the Phillies Baseball Academy will parade on-field.
