Rays acquire infielder Erick Lara and right-handed pitcher Andrew Lindsey from Marlins in exchange for infielder Vidal Bruján and RHP Calvin Faucher

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.—The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired infielder Erick Lara, right-handed pitcher Andrew Lindsey and a player to be named later in exchange for infielder Vidal Bruján and right-handed pitcher Calvin Faucher

Lara, 17, hit .305/.416/.445 (39-for-128) with eight doubles, two triples, two home runs and 32 RBI in 34 games for the DSL Marlins after signing as a free agent on January 15, 2023. 
Lindsey, 24, was selected in the fifth round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft and went 0-1 with an 8.31 ERA (4.1IP, 4ER) in two starts with the FCL Marlins. He was rated the Marlins No. 16 prospect by MLB.com.

Bruján, 25, hit .171/.241/.197 (13-for-76) with two doubles, 6 RBI and three steals in 37 games for Tampa Bay in 2023. In 99 career games with the Rays spanning three seasons, Bruján hit .157 with seven doubles, three home runs, 24 RBI and nine steals. 

Faucher, 28, went 1-1 with a 7.01 ERA (25.2IP, 20ER) in 17 appearances (four starts) last season. Acquired from the Twins on July 22, 2022, he went 3-4 with a 6.32 ERA (47.0IP, 33ER) in 39 career appearances (four starts) for the Rays.
