CINCINNATI -- As the Reds celebrated an 8-1 victory over the Pirates on Friday at Great American Ball Park, center fielder Nick Senzel did not join the victory line.

Instead, Senzel veered away from his teammates and was met near the outfield grass by third-base coach J.R. House. The two walked off together, but a visibly upset Senzel threw his glove on to the roof of the first-base dugout before heading inside.

Reds manager David Bell was aware of the situation, but he declined to elaborate.

“It’s just something personal and internal with Nick and our team that we’ll have more information on coming up,” Bell said.

Senzel went 0-for-3 with a second-inning walk in the game, though he was later nabbed at second base on a throw by Gregory Polanco. During Thursday’s 9-6 loss to Pittsburgh, he went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run and four RBIs.

In 14 games this season, Senzel is batting .244/.327/.489 with two homers and eight RBIs.
