Reds center fielder left Friday’s game in Milwaukee in the fourth inning with left groin tightness, the club announced. He was replaced by Travis Jankowski in center field in the bottom of the frame after striking out in the top.

Manager David Bell said after the game he was unsure how Senzel sustained the injury, and he indicated the outfielder might need a day or two to rest.

Senzel showed signs of discomfort while running from first to third in the first inning. Sprinting on a base hit by Matt Davidson, Senzel looked like he may have landed awkwardly on second while making the turn for third.

In the eighth inning, left the game, also with a groin injury. He walked Orlando Arcia and winced after delivering his third and fourth pitches to Brock Holt. Following a brief conversation with Bell and a team trainer on the mound, Strop exited the game with a 3-1 count on Holt.

Strop will also be re-evaluated on Saturday.

“We’ll have to see how they both are tomorrow,” Bell said.
