After slugging six home runs apiece last week, the Royals' Jorge Soler and the Reds' Aristides Aquino were named MLB's Players of the Week presented by W.B. Mason on Monday.

Soler won American League Player of the Week honors after hitting .409/.552/1.273 in the Royals' seven games. He went deep in all three of Kansas City's wins during the week and had two multi-homer games.

The 27-year-old's big week gave him 35 home runs on the season -- just three shy of Kansas City's single-season franchise record of 38 set by Mike Moustakas in 2017.

Aquino burst onto the scene to take home the National League Player of the Week Award despite entering the week with only five previous career games played. The Reds rookie hit .500/.542/1.364 in his six games played, including homering in four straight.

On Thursday, the 25-year-old launched a 118.3 mph home run, tied for the hardest-hit homer in MLB this season and a Reds record since Statcast began tracking in 2015. Aquino capped his home run surge with a three-homer game on Saturday in just his 10th career game.

Soler is the Royals' first Player of the Week winner since Eric Hosmer in September 2017. The previous most recent Reds player to win NL honors was Scooter Gennett last May.
