Reds add Revere to outfield competition

Veteran agrees to Minor League deal, likely to vie with Ervin for roster spot

GOODYEAR, Ariz. -- The Reds completed the signing of veteran outfielder to a Minor League contract with an invitation to big league camp at Spring Training.
Terms were not immediately known. Revere and the club agreed to terms of a deal Sunday and he passed his physical Monday.

Cincinnati is likely adding Revere to compete for a spot as a reserve outfielder behind the four-man rotation of , , and . He can play all three outfield spots and would likely compete with for the fifth outfielder's role.

Revere, 29, batted .275/.308/.344 with one home run and 20 RBIs in 109 games for the Angels last season.
Over an eight-year career with the Twins, Phillies, Blue Jays, Nationals and Angels, Revere is a .284/.319/.343 hitter.
Revere will wear No. 2. His arrival gives the Reds 65 players in camp.
