Skylar Wallace has been crushing pitches all season long in the Athletes Unlimited Softball League. On Thursday, her power at the plate put her in the AUSL history books.
The Chicago Bandits infielder became the first player in league history to homer three times in a game. She achieved the feat during the Bandits’ 15-7 victory over the Carolina Blaze.
Wallace lined a two-run dinger just beyond the right-field wall in the second inning, hit a three-run homer to left-center field in the third and added a no-doubt solo shot to right in the sixth.
Even when she wasn’t hitting balls out of the yard, Wallace was still doing damage at the dish. She also had a single and an RBI double during her five-hit, seven-RBI performance.
Over the past two days against the Blaze, Wallace has gone 9-for-10 with four home runs, nine RBIs and nine runs scored in a pair of Bandits victories. Chicago’s win on Wednesday clinched its spot in the AUSL postseason for the second straight year.
