An infield error led to a pair of unearned runs in the frame, the second of which scored after Skubal had departed the game. He still recorded multiple strikeouts in three different frames to finish with nine, one off his career-high total. The 2018 ninth-rounder sports a 3.09 ERA with 31 strikeouts and five walks in 23 1/3 innings (five starts) on the season.

The 2018 No. 3 overall Draft pick has been a Roundup staple so far this season, hitting .367/.441/.595 in 22 games. Pipkin, 19, tossed the final four frames without allowing a hit as he picked up his first win of the season. He struck out four and recorded five groundouts while throwing 50 pitches (30 strikes).
