Eovaldi has issued just four walks and no home runs through his first four starts. He'll hope to keep rolling against the Mariners, a team that tagged him for six runs in five innings when they last met in 2019.

Margevicius is slated to pitch on turn after exiting his last outing early with left arm fatigue. His last start came on one day’s fewer rest than he’s been accustomed to in the six-man rotation. This will be his first career start against the Red Sox.

Rodriguez returned to Fenway Park on Tuesday, making his first home start since missing the 2020 season due to COVID-19 complications. He will start against Seattle, who he's beaten in three of seven career starts.

Richards is coming off a tough outing in which he struggled with command, giving up four runs and walking six over 4 2/3 innings vs. Toronto. This will be his first time facing the Mets in his 11-year Major League career.

Peterson will get another crack at the Red Sox, the team that drafted him out of high school in the 28th round in 2014. The left-hander beat Boston in his big league debut at Fenway Park last July 28, calling it "one of the greatest days of my life."

The righty had a solid last outing vs. Seattle on Thursday, giving up two runs on one hit and striking out four in six innings. In eight career appearances (seven starts) vs. the Mets, Pivetta is 3-2 with a 6.08 ERA.

The Mets optioned Joey Lucchesi to their alternate training site on Friday because they plan to roll with a four-man rotation for a bit, taking advantage of two off-days. That means a start on regular rest for deGrom, who also pitched four of the Mets' first 15 games.

Coming off back-to-back outings in which he went 3 2/3 innings, Pérez will try to regain his early-season form. In two career starts against the Rangers, Pérez is 1-0 with a 4.91 ERA

The Rangers' ace looks to continue his hot streak. With a 2.30 ERA across five starts, he has yet to record a loss this season after taking a no-decision on Opening Day. He's only allowed two earned runs over his last four starts and has held opponents to a .235 batting average this season.
