On select days, a member of the Armed Forces who has recently returned from deployment, delivers the game ball to the pitcher's mound in front of the crowd at Comerica Park. The game ball delivery is a symbol of appreciation for the men and women who serve our country.
The Detroit Tigers are proud to give back to the men and women who serve our country and make sacrifices for our freedom and safety. Through a variety of programs, the Tigers show appreciation for active and former military members as well as local first responders for their service.
Active members and veterans of the military are eligible to purchase discounted tickets.
To celebrate the dedication and sacrifice of all branches of the military and their many veterans, the Detroit Tigers hosted Armed Forces and Veteran Recognition Day on July 4th at Comerica Park. The Tigers donated 1,000 tickets to active service members and veterans, along with their families, to attend the game as the Tigers took on the San Francisco Giants. Service members and veterans were also invited to participate in an on-field pregame ceremony.
