is in his first season with the A’s, so he is still getting used to having ’s cannon arm in center field. He got an up-close look, almost too close, at just how powerful it is on Monday night.

During the fourth inning against the Rangers at Globe Life Field, Laureano aggressively charged a ball hit by Robinson Chirinos that bounced off the second-base bag and trickled into shallow center. With Chirinos taking a wide turn at first, Laureano ensured he'd hold the runner to a single by quickly picking up the ball and firing a rocket to second, where an unsuspecting Kemp fell backward while catching the ball to avoid possibly getting his head taken off.

Kemp learned what most A’s infielders have come to find out over the past couple of years: Always expect a bullet from “Laser Ramón” Laureano.
