What is the Oakland A's Fantasy Camp?
The Oakland Athletics Fantasy Camp is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for Aās fans to live their lifelong Major League Baseball dreams. Campers will spend five (5) days on the Major League fields at the A's Spring Training complex in Mesa, AZ, playing games and receiving baseball instruction from A's legends. The camp staff consists of several Oakland A's alumni, and you will get to know these former big leaguers on and off the ball fields. Campers will be assigned their own Major League locker, receive a custom authentic uniform, play on Major League fields, and more!
Where and when is Fantasy Camp held?
Fantasy Camp begins Wednesday, January 10 and ends Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Held in Mesa, Arizona, campers use the A's professional facilities and fields at the Lew Wolff Training Complex at Fitch Park. These are the same fields that prepare A's players for Spring Training games and often used to train A's minor league players.
Who is eligible to participate?
Any player, of any gender, 21 years of age or older is eligible to participate.
What is the level of competition?
The camp is designed for players of all capabilities and competitive spirit. On the first day of camp, coaches will draft their teams for the week of games. Campers will have the opportunity to play every position they want and compete for the Fantasy Camp Championship, and sportsmanship and fun always come first!
How much playing time will I get?
Every camper will have the opportunity to play every position in the field and play anywhere between one (1) - two (2) games a day. All campers are in the lineup for every game. In addition to the daily games, you will find our coaches more than happy to share other tips that can improve your game.
Who are the former Major Leaguers in camp?
Our camp staff will consist of many former A's Players. 2024 coaching staff will be announced this summer. Please note that coaches are subject to change.
How much time can I expect to spend with the coaches and are we allowed to ask for autographs and pictures?
Camp participants will have many opportunities to spend time with the coaches, both on and off the field. Campers are welcome to ask for photos and autographs during their free time and away from games. A professional photographer will also be available to capture the perfect photo of you in action, as well as with your coach and teammates.
What do I need to bring?
All you need to bring is your glove and proper footwear, either cleats (rubber spikes required, NO METAL SPIKES) or running shoes. You may also bring your own wood bat(s), but this is not required. We will provide you with a complete uniform, which includes jersey, pants, belt, socks and a fitted cap. We will equip each team with batting helmets, catcher's gear, baseballs, etc. A limited number of bats will be supplied for you to use if you did not bring your own.
What type of bats are used at camp and are they provided?
Only wood bats will be permitted at the Oakland Athletics Fantasy Camp. The goal is to recreate that Major League experience for all of our campers and promote a safe environment. You are welcome to bring a personal bat to use at camp, but the camp is not responsible for personal bats broken during the course of play. A limited number of bats will be supplied for you to use if you did not bring your own.
What kind of clubhouse and trainer support can I expect?
Our goal is to give each camper the real Major League experience, and that means keeping you on the field and ready for the next game. Our clubhouse crew will have your uniform laundered each day and hang it in your locker each morning. Our athletic trainers will also be available to assist you in working through any injuries, aches or pains that you might encounter during the week.
Do you have baseballs on hand for autographs?
Baseballs will be available while supplies last. A team photo will be taken by our photographer and will be made available for every camper.
Where do we stay while we are in Mesa?
Lodging and accommodations will be provided at hotel TBD near the training facility. Your registration includes your hotel stay with a double occupancy room. Campers have the opportunity to upgrade to a single occupancy room for an additional fee.
What meals are covered?
Breakfast, lunch and snacks will be provided daily at the training facility. Dinner will be provided at the Welcome Reception and Awards Banquet, which are included in campers registration. Campers will be responsible for other meals not listed.
Are flights included?
Campers are responsible for their airfare, as well as transportation to and from the airport.
Can I bring my spouse, family member or friend?
Campers are welcome to purchase a Fan Package to have a guest participate in all off field activities. Maximum of one Fan Package per camp registration. Fan Package participants must be 21 years of age or older. All other guests may not visit the training facility or attend any sanctioned events.
What is the appropriate attire for camp?
Attire for the camp is casual, although most of your days will be spent at the fields in uniform. For the Awards Banquet, we do ask that everyone wear business casual attire as this will be a special evening of recognition and achievement. The mornings and evenings can be cool, and we do recommend that you bring a light jacket or sweater with you.
Do campers receive any special recognition?
Absolutely! At the end of the week, special awards will be presented by the coaches at the Awards Banquet.

Is my registration tax deductible?
Yes! Net proceeds from the Oakland Athletics Fantasy Camp benefits the Oakland A's Community Fund. Participants will receive a tax letter at the conclusion of the event.
