LOS ANGELES -- Though three pitches made this the latest of the frustrating experiences Julio Teheran has experienced at Dodger Stadium, the right-hander was still able to walk away from Friday night's start with the same sense of encouragement he has felt most of this season.
But that doesn't mean Teheran wasn't bothered by the maddening reality that the only three hits he surrendered over 5 2/3 innings were solo home runs that proved decisive in the Dodgers' 4-2 win. The odd line made him the first pitcher in Braves history to allow exactly three runs and three hits, all of which were home runs, while completing at least five innings.
"It was kind of weird," Teheran said. "I felt good and I made good pitches. Even though I made good pitches, they still hit them and they all were homers. It's one of those games. I felt good. There's nothing I can do."

Two of the home runs were tallied by Dodgers rookie shortstop Corey Seager, who added another solo shot off Hunter Cervenka in the eighth inning to complete the first three-homer game of his young career. Trayce Thompson, another Dodgers rookie, accounted for the other homer surrendered by Teheran, who had surrendered a total of three home runs while posting an impressive 1.38 ERA over his eight most recent starts.
Strengthened by the confidence he gained during this strong stretch that spanned back to late April, Teheran certainly didn't seem to be bothered by the challenge of returning to Dodger Stadium, where he had previously sandwiched two ugly starts around a strong eight-inning effort.
Teheran kept the Dodgers hitless until his first pitch of the fourth inning -- a changeup -- was belted over the right-center-field wall by Seager. Thompson drilled a fastball over the right-center-field wall in the fifth inning to tie the game. Seager then got back into the act in the sixth inning when he drilled a 2-0 backdoor slider over the center-field wall.
Though they were all solo shots, the damage was significant enough to doom the Braves' hurler, who has gone 1-4 while producing a 1.89 ERA over his past nine starts.
"I'm glad about the way I've been pitching," Teheran said. "Even though I've got a couple losses, I'm happy with the way I've been feeling and the way I've been executing pitches. I've just got to keep going and keep working hard. I'm going to find the luck one day."
