Clearwater third baseman Alec Bohm, Reading right-hander Ramon Rosso, and Reading infielder Jose Gomez have been named Phillies Minor League Hitter, Pitcher and Defender of the Month, respectively, for April.

Bohm, a 22-year-old from Omaha, Neb., batted .373 (31-83) with nine doubles, three home runs, 11 RBI, 13 walks, three steals and a 1.039 OPS in 22 games with single-A Lakewood and one with single-A Clearwater. He batted .429 with a .671 slugging percentage and 1.159 OPS over his final 19 games of the month, collecting multiple hits in 11 of those contests. Bohm was selected by the Phillies in the first round of the June 2018 draft (No. 3 overall) out of Wichita State University.

Rosso, 22, went 2-0 with a 0.89 ERA (2 ER, 20.1 IP) and 26 strikeouts to six walks in his four starts in April. He did not allow a run in his first 13.1 innings pitched this season. A native of the Dominican Republic, Rosso was second among all Eastern League pitchers in ERA in April (min. 20.0 IP), and was 10th in the league in strikeouts. Rosso was signed by the Phillies as a minor league free agent in February 2017.

Gomez started in 14 games for Clearwater in April before being promoted to double-A Reading to begin May. He started multiple games at second base (9), third base (3) and shortstop (2) and was a perfect 50-for-50 in total chances, turning eight double plays. A 22-year-old originally from Venezuela, Gomez was one of three players acquired from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for Pat Neshek in July 2017.
