Toronto's major offseason splash makes his long-awaited Opening Day start. Ryu is expected to be close to full strength after building up well through Summer Camp. In his final intrasquad game, the lefty threw five innings and nearly 80 pitches.

For the first time in his 13-year career, Morton will take the mound on Opening Day. The Rays right-hander finished third in AL Cy Young Award voting after starting a career-high 33 games last season, going 16-6 with a 3.05 ERA. Morton went 8-3 with a 2.59 ERA in 17 starts at Tropicana Field last season.

Few players in baseball will be as eager as Shoemaker to get the season going. He owned a 1.57 ERA over five starts in 2019, before tearing the ACL in his left knee. The righty has looked sharp in camp and is built up to a near-full workload already.

Yarbrough entered Summer Camp competing for a spot in the rotation, and it appears he has accomplished that. The Rays left-hander made 14 starts last season and excelled in the second half, posting a 3.79 ERA in 10 starts. Yarbrough held Blue Jays hitters to a .197 average in ‘19.

Hatch will make his MLB debut with Anthony Kay expected to follow. The club's No. 23 prospect earned plenty of attention in Summer Camp as the "sleeper" in the rotation, and will be working on a pitch count.

Snell, the 2018 AL Cy Young Award winner, says he is fully healthy after a pair of left elbow injuries that limited him last season, and he hopes to have a bounce-back 2020 season. Snell went 6-8 with a 4.29 ERA in 23 starts last season.

Foltynewicz was a Cy Young Award candidate in 2018, but injuries led him to struggle during most of last season. He finished last year in encouraging fashion, but his velocity was down when he faced the Marlins in an exhibition game on Tuesday.

Before suffering a mild foream strain, Glasnow was one of the top pitchers in the American League. The Rays right-hander went 6-1 with a 1.78 ERA in 12 starts last season. Glasnow also recorded 76 strikeouts in 60 2/3 innings.

Wright will be looking to prove he's much more prepared than he was last year when injuries forced him on the Opening Day roster. The highly regarded prospect struggled during the four starts he made in 2019. But his slider gives him a weapon, which will become more effective with improved fastball command.

Despite only throwing to live hitters once during Summer Camp due to a positive COVID-19 test, Chirinos is slated as one of the Rays' 5 starters this season. The right-hander threw 62 pitches over four innings during a simulated game on Wednesday.
