Georgia Council on American Indian Concerns

The Braves have created a partnership with the Georgia Council on American Indian Concerns and other tribal leaders to collaborate on matters related to culture, history, education, outreach and recognition. These efforts are designed to sustain, enhance and protect American Indian cultural heritage. The Braves were honored to receive a Resolution from the Georgia Council on American Indian Concerns for our contributions to the American Indian community.

Georgia Tribal Night at Truist Park

In honor of Georgia Tribal Night, we were proud to recognize members and dignitaries of the Lower Muscogee Creek Tribe, the Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee, the Cherokee of Georgia Tribal Council, as well as members of the Georgia Council on American Indian concerns. Our guests participated in a pre-game ceremony on the Truist Park. This years Georgia Tribe Night will be held on June 29th, 2024. More details coming soon!

Native American Day

Partnering with Georgia Council on American Indian Concerns and Governor Brian Kemp, an official ā€œNative American Dayā€ on November 30 was established in 2020. This has provided an opportunity for Georgians across the state to learn about Native American history and its impact on the State of Georgia.

Native American Heritage Month

In November 2021, for the first time a sitting Georgia Governor invited and met with representatives from each of the state-recognized tribes shortly before officially declaring November ā€œNative American Heritage Monthā€ in Georgia.

Georgia Tribe Flags

To permanently honor and recognize Georgia Native American Tribes, flags of the Cherokee of Georgia Tribal Council, Georgia Tribe of Eastern Cherokee, and the Lower Muskogee Creek Tribe are displayed in the Home Run Porch at Truist Park, along with information on each tribe.
