PHILADELPHIA -- Bryson Stott was back in the starting lineup for Saturday night's game against the Braves, one day after he was scratched an hour before Friday's 5-2 loss due to what the team called "a personal matter."
Stott later announced on Instagram that his wife, Dru, had given birth to a baby girl, the couple's third child.
Stott was back with the club on Saturday afternoon, even going through pregame drills while still wearing his hospital wristband. He returned to the lineup batting eighth and playing third base.
Stott has been one of the Phillies' most consistent hitters over the past three months. He hit .287 in June, .287 in July and .284 in August, all while entering Saturday with a .284/.374/.422 slash line since June 4.
