Play Ball Weekend

Youth in communities in each of our 5-state market will have access to free and fun Play Ball events as part of the Mariners On BASE 365 program.

In 2025, we partnered with baseball and softball organizations to host Play Ball Fests and Play Ball Pop-Ups, and engaged with community organizations, school districts, and cities to bring the joy of Play Ball to communities across our region.

With a goal of serving over 1,500 youth through this initiative, every child received a Play Ball Kit including a Mariners drawstring bag, water bottle, and bat and ball set, PLUS a chance to Play Ball in a fun and supportive environment.

What is PLAY BALL?

What is PLAY BALL? The PLAY BALL initiative is baseball’s collective effort to encourage young people and communities to engage in baseball or softball related activities, including formal leagues, special events and casual forms of play. PLAY BALL events have become MLB’s signature youth engagement activity during the professional and amateur baseball and softball calendar, especially on key dates throughout MLB’s Championship Season and through the Postseason & World Series. PLAYBALL events demonstrate the positive way the game can serve as an outlet for physical activity, fun with friends and learning how to play the sport at its most basic levels.
