The Northwest League’s leader in batting average has shown no signs of slowing down.
Felnin Celesten, the Mariners' No. 7 prospect, clobbered his first professional grand slam on Wednesday, powering High-A Everett to a 5-3 win over Eugene at Everett Memorial Stadium.
A switch-hitting shortstop, Celesten was batting righty when he yanked the first pitch he saw in the third inning over the high wall in left-center field for the four-bagger. He put up a 25-game hitting streak earlier this season and is now up to a .320/.430/.486 overall slash line. A .916 OPS is additionally good for second in the Northwest League.
