Baseball’s top pitching prospect is heading to The Show.
The Mariners are promoting left-handed pitcher Kade Anderson, sources told MLB.com’s Daniel Kramer, just in time for the stretch run of the season and a potential playoff push. The club has not confirmed the move.
Anderson is MLB Pipeline’s No. 5 overall prospect and the top pitching prospect in baseball, as well as Seattle’s No. 1 prospect.
The 22-year-old left-hander has been nothing short of incredible this season. Selected third overall out of LSU in the 2025 Draft by the Mariners, Anderson didn’t pitch in Seattle’s system last season upon being drafted, but he’s more than proven the hype this year. In 18 starts with Double-A Arkansas, Anderson had a 1.06 ERA with 135 strikeouts and just 13 walks across 93 1/3 innings.
On the 20-80 scouting scale, Pipeline gives Anderson a 60 overall grade, making him a borderline elite prospect. He grades at a 60 on his fastball, changeup and control, while Pipeline gives his pair of breaking balls (curveball and slider) a 55. He’ll join a Seattle rotation alongside household names such as Logan Gilbert, Bryan Woo, George Kirby and Bryce Miller.
