SEATTLE -- The midseason re-ranks are out at MLB Pipeline, and although the Mariners didn’t have a significant shakeup like last year, the takeaway from the top of the farm is those players’ closer proximity to the Majors.
And the headliner of this group -- left-hander Kade Anderson -- remains unchanged, having become the top-ranked pitching prospect in the sport.

Anderson is expected to be in the mix for the season’s final stretch, though the club hasn’t yet revealed when or how -- other than that he won’t be considered for a bullpen role at this point.
“There's extra velocity,” Mariners president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto said. “The precision has come so far, even since the day he signed. He's doing everything we could possibly expect or ask him.”
Michael Arroyo could also be in the mix for the big league club down the stretch, as the 21-year-old contact specialist has been raking at Triple-A Tacoma. He entered Wednesday hitting .316 with a .944 OPS in 27 games since being promoted.
There are five newcomers to Seattle’s Top 30 prospects, with first-round Draft pick Ace Reese pacing that group. The former Mississippi State slugger checks in at No. 8 among the midseason re-ranks.
“The information that comes back from our analysts show that he's probably one of the top three hitters in the country,” Mariners vice president of amateur scouting Scott Hunter said, “and it profiles as a guy that's going to go out and have success right away. I don't want to ever put a timetable on a player. But to do the things he was doing in the [Southeastern Conference], which is a totally different animal of baseball these days for college sports, it's really impressive.”
On a broader level, the new rankings also feature six Mariners players within MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 overall prospects.

Here are the players whose ranks changed the most from the preseason list:
Jump: Colton Shaw, RHP (Preseason: Unranked | Midseason: No. 20)
Shaw spent his first two years at Yale as a two-way player before moving exclusively to the mound as a junior in 2024. The Bulldogs’ captain earned first-team All-Ivy League honors as a senior and signed for $100,000 as the Mariners’ seventh-round pick in 2025. His four-pitch mix lacks a true out pitch but plays up thanks to feel and command. His 92-95 mph fastball features run and sink, while his low-80s sweeping slider is his best offering. He also throws a cutter and occasional changeup. His ability to start long-term may hinge on adding velocity.
Fall: Teddy McGraw, RHP (Preseason: No. 13 | Midseason: Unranked)
Seattle’s third-round pick from that loaded 2023 class, McGraw is finally healthy in 2026 after recovering from two Tommy John surgeries, then biceps tendinitis this past spring. To keep him on the mound, the Mariners have transitioned the former Wake Forest product into a full-time reliever. After four games in Rookie ball and two with Single-A Inland Empire, he made his debut at Double-A Arkansas in early June and has remained there since, carrying a 4.91 ERA through 16 games.
