2021

Went 6-5 with a 4.68 ERA (62 ER, 119.1 IP) with 28 walks and 128 strikeouts in 24 starts in first Major League season...Made MLB debut on May 13 against Cleveland…allowed four runs over 4.0 innings, tallying 5 strikeouts...became the 42nd Mariners pitcher to start in MLB debut, the first since Justin Dunn, Sept. 12, 2019 vs. Cincinnati....Gilbert ranks 6th in franchise history for strikeouts by a rookie with 124, passing teammate Yusei Kikuchi who ranks 7th with 116 strikeouts during his rookie season in 2019...Recorded first MLB win on June 6 at Los Angeles-AL, tossing 5.0 innings allowing one run on two hits and four walks with seven strikeouts....Had a five-game winning streak spanning June 6-July 30… tallied a 3.38 ERA (17 ER, 45.2 IP) with 57 strikeouts to just 11 walks over that span...Became the 6th pitcher in franchise history to tally at least 50 strikeouts through his first 10 career starts, joining Michael Pineda (66), Félix Hernández (65), Erik Hanson (57), Roenis Elías (52), and James Paxton (50)....In last start of the first half on July 8 vs. the Yankees, tossed 7.0 shutout innings allowing just two baserunners (1 hit and 1 HBP) while striking out eight, setting career highs in innings pitched and strikeouts…became the 2nd-youngest pitcher in franchise history to toss seven or more shutout innings allowing one hit or fewer, behind Félix Hernández...- Reached 100 career strikeouts on Sept. 1, 2021 vs. HOU (Yordan Álvarez)....From May 25-July 30 Seattle recorded 11 consecutive victories in Gilbert starts...the 11 consecutive team wins in his starts ranks 3rd in Mariners history...Between May 25 - Aug. 10, went 5-1 with a 3.51 ERA (26 ER, 66.2 IP) in 13 starts...during this stretch he limited opponents to a .213 (52x244) average, while walking 16 and striking out 77...the Mariners won the first 11 of his starts during the stretch (11-2 overall)....Ranked 5th among AL pitchers and 1st among AL rookies with a 2.70 ERA (10 ER, 33.1 IP) in September/October...also ranked 2nd with 31 strikeouts, T2nd with a 1.02 WHIP and 2nd with a .205 batting average against (26x127).

Named to the Mariners 60-man roster prior to the start of the 2020 season…spent season playing at the Mariners Alternate site in Tacoma.

2019

Split season between A West Virginia (4/4 – 5/1), High-A Modesto (5/2 – 7/14) and Double-A Arkansas (July 15-end), going 10-5 with a 2.13 ERA (32 ER, 135.0 IP) in 26 combined starts in first professional season…limited opponents to a .198 (95x481) average, while walking 33 and striking out 165...among all minor league pitchers (min. 125.0 IP), ranked 3rd in ERA (2.13), 5th in average (.198), T7th in strikeouts (165), while his 10 wins were 2nd-most among all Mariners farmhands...named Pitcher of the Week twice en route to being named an AllStar for both the California (Single-A) League and Texas (Double-A) League, as well as an MiLB.com Organizational All-Star...rated as the #4 Prospect in the Texas League and the #7 Prospect in the California League by Baseball America following the season.
