Once again this season, the Reds joined with Major League Baseball to celebrate youth baseball and softball with the league-wide PLAY BALL initiative!
PLAY BALL Weekend in Cincinnati was May 18-20, 2018, with activities taking place all weekend to encourage young people to play ball and highlighting the many youth baseball and softball outreach programs of the Reds and Reds Community Fund.

FRIDAY, MAY 18
PLAY BALL Weekend kicks off with a pregame youth baseball clinic featuring Hall of Famer Johnny Bench, sponsored by Nathan's Famous.
The first 100 kids at the clinic will receive a PLAY BALL bat and ball set and a Nathan's Famous backpack.
SATURDAY, MAY 19
The Reds and Reds Community Fund are renovating a baseball field on Cincinnati's West side in honor of longtime clubhouse manager Bernie Stowe. The dedication ceremony at 9 a.m. will include Hall of Famers Joe Morgan and Johnny Bench, Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley and other special guests.

As part of Play Ball Weekend in Cincinnati, the Reds dedicated Bernie Stowe Field in honor of the late longtime clubhouse manager
SUNDAY, MAY 20
Kids 14 and younger attending the game will receive a pair of PLAY BALL wristbands.
Additional activities at the game will include:
- Pregame youth baseball parade around the warning track
- Cap exchange between Reds players and kids on the field
- Youth Fan Cam host for in-game video board features and games
- "Third and Learn" baseball activity in the Kroger Fan Zone during the third inning
