Ventura expects a turnaround from Konerko

CHICAGO -- One of the reasons, perhaps the main reason, the White Sox have struggled to score runs this season has been the below normal production from middle-of-the-lineup slugger Paul Konerko.

Entering Sunday's series finale against the A's at U.S. Cellular Field, Konerko was batting .234 with six home runs and 23 RBIs -- and that was after he went 2-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs on Saturday.

The home run was Konerko's first since May 22, a span of 11 games and 44 at-bats.

Sox manager Robin Ventura, though, has faith that Konerko will get things turned around and believes his natural swing already has returned.

"The swing and everything, that's normally what you see out of him," Ventura said. "He's had it for a while, although results-wise it might not be what you want. Again, the swings are a lot better."
