White Sox option Dylan Axelrod to Triple-A Charlotte

DETROIT – Following this afternoon’s game at Detroit, the Chicago White Sox optioned right-handed pitcher Dylan Axelrod to Triple-A Charlotte.

Axelrod, 26, is 1-2 with a 5.63 ERA (24 ER/38.1 IP) over 10 games (six starts) with Chicago this season.  He is one of 12 rookies (10 pitchers) to appear on the White Sox 25-man roster this season.

Right-handed pitcher Brett Myers, who was acquired in a trade from Houston prior to today’s game, is expected to report to the club tomorrow for the series finale vs. the Tigers. 

With the addition of Myers, the White Sox 40-man roster increased to 40.
