White Sox Place Felipe Paulino on Disabled List; Recall Andre Rienzo; Outright Donnie Veal

ARLINGTON, Texas - Prior to tonight's game at Texas, the Chicago White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Felipe Paulino on the 15-day disabled list with right rotator cuff inflammation, recalled right-hander Andre Rienzo from Class AAA Charlotte and outrighted left-hander Donnie Veal to Charlotte.

Rienzo, 25, is 0-2 with 4.85 ERA (7 ER/13.0 IP) in three starts with the Knights this season. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound Rienzo has allowed 15 hits, walked eight and struck out nine.

A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, he made 10 starts for the White Sox in 2013, going 2-3 with a 4.82 ERA (30 ER/56.0 IP). Rienzo, who will wear uniform No. 64, is the only native of Brazil to pitch in a major-league game.

Paulino, 30, has gone 0-2 with an 11.29 ERA (23 ER/18.1 IP) in four starts this season, his first with the Sox. He allowed 10 runs on 13 hits over 3.2 IP in last night's 12-0 loss to the Rangers.

Veal, 29, was designated for assignment on Thursday after going 0-0 with a 7.50 ERA (5 ER/6.0 IP) in seven relief appearances with the Sox this season. He is expected to join Charlotte within the next few days.
