Braves Park Projects Community Impact

The Frederick Douglass High School softball team made it to the state playoffs after the completion of their Braves Park Project. The team went from not winning a game in three seasons to achieving a 9-9 record. The goal of Braves Park Projects is more than just winning games – it's to develop and inspire the next generation.

Braves Park Projects also provides support for baseball and softball facilities in communities affected by disaster, including Griffin High School, Mountain Heritage High School, and Elks Lodge Field.

“We had an unfortunate tragedy - six people were shot during a softball tournament that was taking place right here at this field. I asked that - the Braves and the [Atlanta] Braves Foundation had invested in this community before in the 90s - I asked if they would be willing to come back out again and invest in a big way in light of the tragedy as a way for our community to heal and move forward... They came out in such a big way.”

- Councilmember Jason Dozier, District 4 Atlanta City Council

“You all have truly made my senior year special. For that, on behalf of my team, we truly thank each and every one of you.”

- Darien Harden, Frederick Douglass High School baseball player
