The Diamondbacks on Saturday unveiled a 25th Anniversary logo honoring the 2001 World Championship team at the club's annual Most Valuable Party at Chase Field.

At the party, which was exclusively for Diamondbacks season ticket/Advantage Club members, Arizona also announced some of the ways it will commemorate the history-making 2001 team as part of a celebration that will last throughout the year.

"This will be a season-long celebration of a special team," Arizona team president/CEO Derrick Hall said. "We will involve and showcase the players behind the accomplishment and believe they will serve as a reminder and motivation for where we want to be again."

There will be a full-team reunion on Saturday, Sept. 19, when the Diamondbacks host the Yankees, the team they beat in that epic, seven-game Fall Classic 25 years ago.

Members of the 2001 team will make regular appearances at the ballpark and in the community throughout the season, and the team has put together a 10-part documentary series on the 2001 season that includes exclusive interviews with key players and staff from that year.

The manager of the 2001 team, Bob Brenly, along with team members Luis Gonzalez, who delivered the walk-off hit in Game 7, Jay Bell, who scored the winning run and catcher Damian Miller were part of the group unveiling the logo.

The 2001 Diamondbacks became the fastest expansion team to win a World Series, beating the vaunted Yankees in just their fourth season of existence. Arizona also owns the distinction of being the fastest expansion team to make the postseason, winning 100 games and the National League West in 1999, its second season.
