DENVER — The Rockies placed catcher on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday (retroactive to Saturday) with a left shoulder strain. The move comes one day after the two-time All-Star was scratched from Monday night's lineup against the Dodgers and after he didn't play in a three-game weekend series at San Francisco.

Catcher was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque in a corresponding move.

With Goodman sidelined over the past few days, received added playing time and batted .316 (6-for-19) with three home runs and eight RBIs during a road trip that saw the Rockies drop two of three in St. Louis but win two of three in Arizona and San Francisco, finishing their longest road trip of the season 5-4. He went 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI in Monday's 11-5 loss.
