Meet Chuck, the nephew of Daniel Susac who went viral after his uncle's big debut

April 3rd, 2026

Giants No. 21 prospect , brother of former big leaguer Andrew, had quite the MLB debut against the Mets on Thursday night.

He singled in his first at-bat, singled in his second at-bat, walked in his third at-bat and then singled once again in his final at-bat. According to Sarah Langs, he's the first Giant to reach safely in his first four career at-bats in nearly 20 years.

By his third hit in the seventh, his teammates were going crazy, the broadcast crew was feeling the excitement and Susac's family -- some 20-strong at Oracle Park -- were losing their minds.

But one member of the family was maybe loving -- (maybe loving it?) -- more than any of the others. The kid, and the moment, have since gone viral on social media multiple times.

Two-year-old Chuck Susac.

"Yeah, so last night we were dealing with the Terrible Twos," Matt Susac, Chuck's dad and Daniel's brother, told MLB.com over Zoom. "We were three hours past bedtime, his grandfather had been feeding him Dip 'n Dots all day and Paw Patrol kept getting interrupted on my phone. It was just like the perfect storm of chaos."

OK, so maybe a little more tired and confused than excited.

Matt says it's been "a whirlwind" of a day with friends sending him the video and seeing it pop up everywhere and anywhere. But he did enjoy one part more than any other when rewatching the clip online.

"I love the part where Ella just calmly walks up to me and gently takes him down out of my arms," Susac said. "Perfect mom moment right there."

"He's a two-year-old, he has big emotions," Ella said. "We all had big emotions last night."

And did Chuck say anything after getting comforted by his mom?

"He said, 'That way!' and wanted to go get french fries," Ella laughed.

Did Daniel know about the viral family moment? Of course he did. Even after his incredible debut -- the catcher already knew that he was playing second fiddle to his nephew Chuck.

"When I saw [Dan] on the field after the game, I said, 'Hey look, you're the second-most famous Susac tonight," Ella told me. "And he said, 'Oh yeah, Chuck?' He thought it was so funny. At that point, Chuck was jumping up and down trying to give him hugs. [Dan] thought it was hilarious."

Even Chuck himself got a kick out of seeing his reaction on the Internet.

"We were showing him this morning, and he grabs the screen and says, 'So cute,'" Ella laughed. "And starts to give himself little kisses on the screen."

Besides Chuck's 30 seconds of fame, the entire night was a special one for the Susac family. A rare phenomenon that's now amazingly happened twice for them in the last 12 years.

"It's hard to put into words," Matt said. "What a night. Awesome night. Getting to watch your little brother do the same thing your older brother did."

The trio of Matt, Ella and Chuck won't be there for Friday's game, but will be in attendance for one or two of the weekend matchups against the Mets. Maybe Daniel will get another hit? Maybe a home run?

If so, make sure you're tuned into social media for any signs of maybe the most famous Susac going right now: Chuck.
