Kellon Lindsey is starting to heat up at Single-A.
The Dodgers' No. 15 prospect homered in his second consecutive game en route to Single-A Ontario’s 6-2 win over San Jose on Tuesday at Excite Ballpark. The homer was Lindsey’s third of the season and pushed his OPS to .924.
The 2024 first-round pick made some loud contact in the sixth inning. Facing right-hander Fernando Vasquez (Giants), Lindsey jumped on a first-pitch fastball and sent it over the left-field wall for his third long ball of the year.
After slugging just .390 in 118 at-bats last season at Single-A, Lindsey has played for more power this year with Ontario, sporting a .511 slugging percentage over his first 94 at-bats.

In the eighth, the 20-year-old worked a six-pitch walk off righty Sam Knowlton. Always a threat to run with his 80-grade speed, Lindsey eventually generated an errant pickoff attempt that enabled him to move to second. After advancing to third on a wild pitch, crossed the plate on a single by Mairoshendrick Martinus.
Through 24 games with the Tower Buzzers, Lindsey has shown an affinity for drawing walks, earning 13 free passes in his first 111 plate appearances, good for an 11.7 percent walk rate.

And the numbers have just gotten better since Lindsey was activated from the IL on May 12. The native of Sebring, Florida, with the 50-grade hit tool is batting .330 with a .413 on-base percentage.
Drawing Trea Turner comparisons while establishing himself as the fastest player in the 2024 Draft class, the Dodgers selected Lindsey with the 23rd overall pick and gave him a $3,297,500 signing bonus.
Injuries have hampered Lindsey at the start of his career. He played just 32 games last year before landing on the IL with an impingement in his right shoulder. While on a July rehab assignment, back issues surfaced that put an end to his season. A now-healthy Lindsey looks like he's poised to rise up the system's depth chart in short order.
