It all began with a little hope.
After dipping into the homer well with fellow top Dodgers prospect Josue De Paula on Saturday, Zyhir Hope continued to break out of a spring funk with his first multihomer game of the season Sunday. The 21-year-old outfielder drove in four runs on two swings to power the Double-A Tulsa Drillers to a 9-3 victory over Springfield at ONEOK Field.
In the third frame, the left-handed-hitting outfielder got back into his groove, lofting the first pitch from southpaw Braden Davis (STL No. 26) over the right-field wall. After striking out in the fourth, Hope dug back into the box an inning later for his second first-pitch roundtripper of the afternoon, lining a two-run shot to left-center off righty Austin Love.
The Drillers notched two four-run innings, which both featured home runs from Hope. Entering Saturday’s contest, the lefty was 5-for-30 across his previous eight games. Now in his past nine at-bats, Hope has three homers and six RBIs.
COMPLETE DODGERS PROSPECT COVERAGE
This spring, the Dodgers invited Hope to big league camp. The outfielder took 38 at-bats through 21 games in the Cactus League after playing a career-high 127 games between High-A -- where he played the majority of the campaign -- and Double-A in 2025.
"From the staff, players, everyone -- it's talent in all aspects of the game," Hope said in March. "So kind of just seeing how everybody goes about their business and stuff like that. Soak it in, stay a student to the game."
