Hitting an inside-the-park home run is cool in its own right. So is hitting a grand slam. How about doing both on the same play?
That's what James Wood did on May 19, 2026, against the Mets, when the young Nationals star hit an inside-the-park grand slam at Nationals Park. Wood became the first player to accomplish the feat since Raimel Tapia did it for the Blue Jays at Fenway Park on July 22, 2022.
While there have been more than 200 inside-the-park grand slams in MLB history, Wood became just the 26th player to accomplish the feat in the Divisional Era (since 1969). Here are those cases dating back to 1969.
