Each June, all MLB teams come together to encourage youth baseball and softball participation across the country as part of the MLB PLAY BALL Initiative. The Nationals PLAY BALL Weekend event is geared toward children aged 5-14 and will take place on Saturday, June 15 at the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy from 9:30am – 12:00pm. The event includes a fun, fast paced clinic for participants ages 5-12 and an MLB Pitch, Hit, and Run competition for ages 10-14.
Registration is FREE and all participants will receive:
- A Nationals PLAY BALL t-shirt
- One (1) PLAY BALL bat and ball set
- A book from Everybody Wins DC
- An opportunity to meet special guests from the Nationals
- Healthy snacks provided by D.C. Central Kitchen
Register today using the links below! No prior baseball/softball experience is required. Dress comfortably in athletic clothing and close-toed shoes, bring your water bottle and a baseball glove, and come prepared to have a good time! Metal spikes are prohibited from being worn on the fields.

Attendees will participate in fast- paced, fun rotating clinic stations that introduce and reinforce baseball basics. Participants will also have the chance to sign up for the Academy’s year-long YBA PLAY program, presented by Nike.

Showcase your baseball and softball skills as athletes are tested, and their measurements are recorded. In addition to the Pitch, Hit, and Run skills tests, rotating clinic stations will be provided as a chance to hone and develop your baseball skills.
