Nationals push Game 2 of doubleheader against Phils to Saturday

September 30th, 2022

WASHINGTON -- As rain came down on a tarp-covered infield, Game 2 of the Nationals' split doubleheader on Friday was postponed until Saturday at 7:05 p.m. ET.

Game 1 on Saturday will be played as originally scheduled at 1:05 p.m. ET.

Right-hander Aníbal Sánchez is slated to pitch Game 1, and righty -- who was added as the 29th player for the doubleheader -- will pitch Game 2. Romero will be making his Nationals debut after being claimed off waivers from the Rays on Aug. 25 and appearing in six games with Triple-A Rochester.

Tickets and parking passes from Friday night’s game will be honored on Saturday night. Complete details on ticket exchanges for those unable to attend the rescheduled game are available at nationals.com/rain.

The Nationals and Phillies completed their afternoon matchup on Friday prior to the rain. The Nats fell, 5-1, to their NL East rival.
