KANSAS CITY -- Orioles second baseman suffered a setback on Tuesday, when he was removed from Triple-A Norfolk’s game against Memphis due to right hand discomfort.

Holliday had been working his way back after fracturing his hamate bone. He struck out in the first inning for the Tides and was then pulled from the game.

It’s the second time in the past week that Holliday has experienced hand/wrist soreness.

Holliday played 11 rehab games for Norfolk from March 27-April 12. He began a new rehab assignment with High-A Frederick on April 18, before returning to Norfolk to play in Tuesday’s game.
