Player Development Complex

The Orioles new Player Development Complex at Ed Smith Stadium is a 47,700 square-foot state-of-the-art facility. The complex broke ground after the 2025 Spring Training season, and now, immediately becomes one of the top player development and training facilities in Major League Baseball.

Lounge
(1,680 square feet)

A central space designed for comfort, connection, and balance within a player’s daily preparation. This space will include a nutrition center.

Classrooms
(1,780 square feet)

Dedicated learning environments for scouting, analytics, game planning, and player education, both on and on the field.

Biomechanics Lab
(3,400 square feet)

This space includes advanced technology to support biomechanical analysis, pitch design, swing adjustments, and performance feedback. The space features over 30 cameras with cutting edge technology and multiple force plates.

Batting Cages/Infield
(15,970 square feet)

Four square batting cages will allow hitters to simulate for realistic ball flight tracking and data analysis. The cages/nets can also lift to convert the space into a full infield. The training turf is an identical system used in MLB stadiums to simulate realistic, game-like scenarios.

Outdoor Turf Agility Field
(33,430 square feet)

A athletic development area focused on speed, movement, conditioning, rehab, and injury prevention. The turf field is double the size of the previous agility area.

Eight Pack
(10,300 square feet)

The new eight pack gives the pitchers and catchers more room for bullpen and mound work under cover and out of the elements.

Visiting Batting Cages
(3,400 square feet)

Covered batting cages allow visiting teams to conduct their game preparation in a high-quality environment out of the elements.
