Trumbo (knee) likely headed for DL stint

CLEVELAND -- is likely headed back to the disabled list. The Orioles' designated hitter has been dealing with right knee inflammation for most of the season and had a flare-up during Sunday's 8-0 loss to the Indians.
"It's just not getting any better, so I'll head back to Baltimore," said Trumbo, as the rest of the team prepared to board a plane to Toronto. "We're going to see what's going on with an image, and what might be able to help it a little bit."
Trumbo -- who has five homers and 14 RBIs in August -- has been one of the Orioles' best hitters when he's played. He got an injection during the last homestand against the Red Sox, causing him to miss some time, and the O's were hoping to stay out in front of the chronic issue.

"We talked about [the DL] last time, but he had some good results from the treatment and the shot, but this last day or so it's kind of really flared up on him again," manager Buck Showalter said. "So, take him back and let him look at it."
Trumbo -- sidelined with a right quad injury this spring -- said he's had good and bad days with the knee issue, which first cropped up in late May.
"Most days are pretty rough, though. I'm not able to really run too well,' he said. "I guess I worry about not being able to help the team, especially costing someone a hit, or just being kind of a nothing out there on the bases right now."
