The Harper family just grew by one. Bryce Harper and his wife, Kayla, welcomed their second child, Brooklyn Elizabeth Harper, according to a post on Harper’s Instagram account.

The couple’s first child, a son named Krew Aron, was born on Aug. 22, 2019. In Harper’s first game as a father, on Aug. 26, he homered in the eighth inning to bring the Phillies within one run. Philly went on to win the game in extras. We saw the “Dad Strength” phenomenon on display in the '20 season from other players, including Mike Trout, who homered in his first at-bat as a father.

We’ll see what Opening Day has in store for Harper in his first game as a dad of two. Harper has five career Opening Day home runs, tied with Albert Pujols for the most among active players.
